The foundations of the song were laid in the autumn of 2019. The track’s theme was found right from the start, as its overall rainy mood was obvious from the very first notes. The initial version of the song was played during rehearsals by Mixte’s first lineup until the COVID-19 pandemic hit, making rehearsals impossible.
Work on the track continued throughout 2020 (June, December), 2021 (July), and 2022 (June), until the final version became a staple of rehearsals in the autumn of 2023 with the lineup of Anton, Philipp, and Jens Milo. Compared to previous iterations of the song, Philipp’s fretless bass took on a leading role alongside the guitar, taking over parts previously played by the lead guitar. The result was an interesting symbiosis of guitar and bass, which alternate their solo and rhythmic roles. Jens Milo did a fantastic job as well: his dynamic playing, combined with a lot of ghost notes, brought a special charm to the song’s rhythmic foundation. Overall, the track has a melancholic, atmospheric vibe, thereby expanding the palette of moods in Mixte’s work.
In November of that same year, the video was filmed in the garden of Philipp’s parents’ house, where the band was rehearsing at the time. Along with the natural rainfall, various garden watering devices were used to create the desired rainy atmosphere. Two months later, in January 2024, the song was officially released.
