About
Our debut album includes 10 songs released between May 2019 and December 2025. Stylistically, the album is incredibly diverse, which fully aligns with the core philosophy of Mixte: mixing colors to achieve a unique result. Folk motifs flow into hard rock riffs, and rapid industrial rhythms transition into atmospheric passages, which are then shattered by modern metal riffs. When compiling the album, the main objective was to balance dynamics and moods to ensure the highest possible level of engagement for the listener. While the album does not feature any new, unreleased songs, the tracks differ slightly from their single versions: all songs have been remixed and remastered, and a few have undergone substantial arrangement changes. Furthermore, the album holds strategic importance for the project as a whole, drawing a definitive line that opens up new opportunities for Mixte moving forward (read more below).
Chapter 1 characterizes the initial period of the Mixte project’s life, which proved to be quite challenging. Having essentially started as a studio project created by Anton Ra, numerous attempts were made to transform it into a live touring band. Unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful due to a lack of suitable musicians. These attempts consumed a lot of time and energy, which impacted the release frequency of new material: 10 songs over 7 years is not the pace originally anticipated—especially considering that dozens of songs in various stages of readiness are already in development, meaning the project certainly doesn’t suffer from a lack of material. Therefore, a change in the project’s strategy has been long overdue. Moving forward, the plan is to regularly and frequently present new music to the audience, regardless of the number of band members, as the songwriter and lyricist, Anton Ra, is a multi-instrumentalist. Let’s hope this strategy pays off and significantly accelerates the release rate of new music.
