Meet Sam, the new drummer

Samuel Lopez is the person who made Mixte rehearsals possible again after Jens left in August 2024. Sam took the place behind the drums, and although he’s not a hardcore metalhead, he will definitely enrich Mixte’s sound. Welcome!

Mixtory | (Un)spoken words: Burning letters

In a cold corner of an unknown room lie scattered fragments of information. With a very limited shelf life, the scribbles are almost forced to be printed, year after year continuing the unbroken relay of spewing words into the public habitats. The question arises: what is the value of this information? No wonder the smoke of burning letters irritates the sense of smell no less than empty words do the mind…

Mixtory | (Un)spoken words: The mouth that always remained silent

Bulging eyes, gills spread to the sides… Such is the final image of a face frozen in a grimace of fear. Throughout its life this creature never uttered a single word, yet this in no way diminishes either its dignity or the importance of its role in the earthly world. Moreover, in a world where too many people chatter endlessly, the animal’s silence acquires an even deeper meaning, granting restless bipeds the chance to feel themselves a part of nature. Thank you, animal.

Mixtory | The Great Mixing: the dead becomes alive

Once, life thrived in the crown of this tree, and it seemed that gazing upward would last forever. But time came, and the giant was broken and fell to the ground, dooming itself to a slow death. Yet its demise was not in vain: the giant’s body became a haven for other forms of parasitic vegetation, whose lives fed on the death of their host. The process of mixing the dead and the living has begun…

Mixtory | The Great Mixing: The scurrying of tiny creatures

The lifeless has become overgrown with life, and now tiny creatures have settled into the once unoccupied space. The colors of nature and the gray world of gray people have blended, and the previously unpainted canvas is now filled with hues. The tiny creatures scurry and intermingle, tirelessly multiplying the chromatic diversity of the natural landscape.

Mixtory | Able to live: Fragile connection

A tenacious parental grip holds onto the hand of their offspring, which confidently tries to slip away. But time will inevitably weaken that grip, and in the worst case, the fragile connection may be lost. All that remains is to work on oneself and hope that the delicate hold will be replaced by a moderately respectful interaction — one that can keep the flame of kinship alive.
